Although its been a while since my last blog post, I have been increasingly growing on Instagram, and I am thrilled about all the support I am getting as a social media “micro-influencer”, fashion and lifestyle blogger, content creator, etc.
As most of you know, I started blogging as a hobby, and plan to continue it as a hobby. I am so thankful for the support I receive on my Instagram and on my blog, and plan to continue growing both of my online platforms. I just wanted to start this post out by saying thank you to anyone who has supported me or has taken the time to read my posts, I am so excited and unbelievably stunned that I am almost to 5k on Instagram! If you aren’t already following me, I recommend doing so, because that is where I share most of my thoughts and “micro-blog posts” with ya’ll!
Although Instagram can be a dangerous catalyst in the “comparison game” of life, it has allowed me to open up more, share my creativity, connect with other creators, and to network with amazing companies and individuals for collaborations and sponsorships. I just feel very thankful that I’ve found something to put all of my creative energy into and that my followers seem to value what I create and share with them!
As far as a life update goes, well, I graduated in December with a business degree in Marketing. Since then, I have been doing some freelance marketing work for a few different companies and individuals on website creation, social media managing, growth, creating promotions, etc.. I absolutely love freelancing because it enables me to be my own boss, in a way, and allows me to use my creativity with little to no boundaries.
I am still living with Tanner, my boyfriend since high school, and we are currently renting a house that is owned by my mom. Since my mom is selling the house soon, we are in the process of finding a new place to live and figuring out where we are going to move. In the meantime, we have showings on our house almost weekly and I have been working hard at cleaning and staging the house for showing potential buyers.
Tanner and I are doing wonderful in our relationship! We are at a hectic and confusing time in life trying to figure out our next step when it comes to finding a home, moving, looking for jobs, etc. I am learning to put my trust fully in God when it comes to dealing with the unknowns. Otherwise, I would be a nervous wreck, since I am a control freak and need to have a 5 year life plan in place at all times! Anyone else?
I am also leaving for Hawaii this week and have never been so excited for a vacation in my life!!! I am beyond thrilled and grateful to have this opportunity of a lifetime! I am going with Tanner and his family, and feel so lucky that they invited me to go with them, especially since I have never been! I will be in Honolulu and plan on drinking Mai Tais by the beach, hiking in some of the most picturesque settings, and soaking up the sun (or at least as much sun as a ginger can tolerate lol)!
After Hawaii, Tanner and I will be searching for a new home to rent and I will be searching for a more permanent job wherever we decide to move, but plan to continue both blogging and freelance marketing as “side hustles”. Although life is filled with unknowns and unanswered questions, I am so excited and restless to see what the future holds for me and I am turning to God for all the answers.
If you’re reading this and are also a 20-something year old that feels confused about life, know this: you don’t have to have it all together yet. If you are working hard for what you want, and are passionate about what you do, you are already half way there! Take a deep breath and work hard to reach the goals you have for yourself, but remember that nothing worth having comes easy and you certainly won’t become an icon like Beyoncé overnight. It may take years for you to become the person you strive to be, to have the dream job you’ve always wanted, to find “the one”, to learn your worth, etc., but as long as you are actively pursuing your passion and working towards being the person you want to be, you are already getting closer! Stay patient, be realistic yet optimistic, put in the WORK, and keep the faith!
